New sat nav systems

Postby sogg » Fri Nov 09, 2007 2:15 pm

hey guys, was reading the newspaper today and saw the subaru current offers ads. And noticed that it mentioned that the liberty luxury editons come with satnav (bluetooth) and dvd player... So i jumped on the subaru website and surely enough :
State-of-the-art 7" Touch Screen Satellite Navigation (Bluetooth)
– DVD Player (Dolby Digital/dts Digital Surround) and Single in-dash CD Player (MP3/WMA Compatible)
http://www.subaru.com.au/quicklinks/current-offers/liberty-luxury-nov/

I had a quick look around the liberty section on the page and couldnt find anything in regards to this... I have a my08 spec B with subaru satnav.. Is my system the same as this one??

nope not the same.....these new Sat Nav systems are rolling out in the Liberty 2.5i Sat Nav models and as you mentioned before, loses the 6 stack for a single because the locaton for the sat nav disc now resides in the centre console below the normal cd slot rather than in the glove box.

Phil....im getting the Pioneer AVIC HD3...u should have a look at it, some good functions and features man.

Looks like the Sube are using the Eclipse model (as do Toyota funnily enough) in the new Libs and Impreza. I like the idea of factory etc with bluetooth, saves changing face plates etc.

Who needs 6 disks when you have ipod integration?

That wouldn't be a surprise considering Toyota have dibs in Subie.. may as well split costs and share some parts..

Apparently you need to change the face plate aswell as the cd insert/eject thingy is a separate unit to the screen itself. so you loose the 6 stacker/mcintosh deck altogether.

Thats wat Brendon told me anyways.
