hey guys im after a 3.0RB wagon and took one for a test drive today. it has 110,000kms and while on full lock there is a horrile noise coming from the front right. my limited knowledge has led me to believe its a cv joint on its way out but im not sure.
has this been an issue for anyone else?
how much to fix?

Don't get too attached to a car you haven't bought yet.
I suggest you keep looking, just in case it's more than a CV joint.

Sounds like a CV to me. if not dealt with promptly, a split cv boot can easily result in a stuffed joint. The boot is only rubber so there is always the chance that one will fail some time in the life of the car.
Expect in the region of $500 if it is just a single joint as it will require replacement of that driveshaft.
