Help, my rear tyres are rubbing

Hey, this will probably be a bit of a noob question for those who know alot more about cars than I do so I'm hopeful someone can help. I have an MY08 Liberty and I love it, all though not a major issue, my rear tyres rub when cornering a little too quickly. I noticed on some of the larger roundabouts that i drive through if i go too quickly left my the inside of my rear right is rubbing and when i turn right the inside of the rear left. So if this normal, or might something be wrong with my car? suggestions to fix the issue. I'm kinda assuming there shouldnt be an issue with rubbing as the tyres are stock on the nicer 17 inch alloys from subaru.

If anyone has some wise words, my thanks in advance

Could depend on a couple of things. Firstly, what size tyre are you using? If it's the standard 215/45/17, then the next thing I would be looking at would be your suspension.

How many kms on the car and what suspension is it running?

Can you see actual witness marks somewhere, to pinpoint what the problem could be? Stock suspension and tyres shouldn't rub at the back.

You can definitely see the marks, its right on the inside edge of the tyres :( should i be taking my car to the subaru hospital whilst still under factory warranty?

yes, definitely take it in for a look under warranty. Before you go, find out in the area of the workshop you take it to where you can make the rub happen and ask to take one of their mechanics for a drive and show them what you mean. It will help a LOT, particularly (and I mean no offence by this) if they may have trouble understanding your description of the fault. Rubbing on stock wheels/tyres/suspension indicates something is wrong in there and probably not particularly safe

Thanks for the advice. The upper back section of each wheel enclosure area was indented by about a tennis ball siZe lump. Not sure why it's like this but the tyre wear seems to indicate that it happened recently somehow or it's been like that for awhile and always driven nicely. I would say that the car went over a harsh bump with the previous owners and the rear flaps were forced up. But I would imagine they would have broken rather than push up and bend metal. So the rubbing was just a lack of space when turning, at the worst point it had maybe 1 cm. But there is tonns of room now.

Even at full compression stock wheels/tyres and suspension should not see any contact inside the wheel arches. Definitely still get it checked out as for things to touch in there indicates that something has been busted
