G'day guys,

I've noticed the STI lower braces are fetching some decent money, for what is probably around $40 of aluminium.

Has anyone got some pics of their brace mounted on the car? I'm basically going to try and fabricate one myself, and see if there is a difference between mine and an STI one.
Working in the steel industry i can get cheap materials, and my dad being a boilermaker for 30something years means free labour :p

Not being a cheap bastard, I just like knowing that I have made something for my car, more sense of accomplishment.

the rear brace is not a single piece like the front brace.

the rear brace is amde up of 4 different linkages, so there is a lot more fabrication involved.

also don't forget braces are usually internaly reinforced to reduce any flexing.

The ones I've seen look like a straight bit of steel mounted underneath. I'll get pics of which I want to copy

if want something better designed look up the Cusco front lower brace, its has 4 mounting points

I'll look up the cusco item and see whats involved. I may even see how i go with a strut brace to accompany the lower arm.
