hey guys,
i have a set of 5 AME 20" rims in my garage, i tryed fiting them to the car but at the front the tyre actually hits the base of the shock (the part/base where springs sit). my question is does anyone or has anyone had this problem and have they still kept the standard struts or have they changed to coilovers cause they're not as wide?
also the rim size is 20x8.5 +45 offset, running 225 / 35 / 20 tyre and the car is lowered.
cheers steve

Steve.
Our wagon is fitted with H&R springs and is currently running 225/35's on Lenso 20" x 8.5" rims with a +45 offset and there is no rubbing or clearance issues.
I would double check the offset info on the wheel or better still, measure it yourself to be double sure.
Cheers,
Rusty.

steve,
had the same issue with my BMW, swap the tyres for a set of 225/30's. that will get them on, unless you want to fork out for coilovers...

You could always get spacers as well. All depends on your budget.

ok check and measured rim and yes the same as it says, and yes i want a set of coilovers but can't really afford it at this present time. i do have spacers here that came with the rims but if i put them on the rim will stick out of the gaurd alot and i do not want that as they stick out a bit already. the only way i might have to go is to change the tyres as sh1ft says to fit them or get rid off the rims and get new ones. i should have just paid the money and got a new set the first time.
cheers steve.

if the tyres fitted to the rims currenty are in good condition, most tyre places trade in tyres (may not get that much offered), or have them removed and sell them on here/ebay or something, least you have std rims to roll around on til you plan out what to do or save up the $$$
