GT 18" rims + tyres on MY05 2.5i

Hey guys,
Have a mate who would give me his 18" GT rims with tyres. As the 2.5i only comes with 17" wheels, i was wondering if i was to do a straight swap with his wheels would i need a speedometer retune?

If they are the stock 215/45R18 tyres on the 18" wheels, you should "retune" the speedo (to at least get your odometer reading correct) as the speedo will be reading 4% lower than with 215/45R17. If they are 225/40R18 tyres (as I believe Subaru started doing at some point after MY07) it will be reading 2% lower. That may not be all that noticeable
Make sure you either have a 18" spare with the same sized tyres as the running 4 or put a larger tyre with the same OD as the running 4 on your 17" spare.
