EBC Brakes

Hi all,

Got some EBC Greenstuff brake pads installed today and all I can say is OMFG!!! They are fantastic, initial bite is unbelievable and there is no fade whatsoever. Also had some decent brake fluid put in as well and the pedal feel is immaculate. Am still running stock rotors so will be looking to upgrade to DBA4000s when funds allow.

If anyone is looking to step up to a better pad, I highly recommend these.

Also, my mechanic who I have been using for a number of years without a problem, did it a pretty good price and was really helpful when choosing the pads and future work that I may want to look into for track days etc. Not sure if we are allowed to give free plugs for mechanics etc but I will anyways. They are Mytek Automotive in Kensington (Sydney obviously), they used to be a part of a common franchise (whose name escapes me at the moment), but they weren't getting the right prices and service from Head Office and told them to stuff it and went out on their own a couple of years ago. I can't recommend George and the guys at Mytek highly enough, I have sent a few guys and girls from work to them and they are all really happy with their service etc and have continued using them, they are also qualified Subaru mechanics so it's win/win when working on our turbocharged engines etc.

The Greenstuff are OK for light to medium street use, however if wanting to push the car harder then something more durable is needed.

Ferodo DS2500 (everyday use) or even DS3500 (more leaning towards regular track use), and the QFM HPX (everyday/track use and very good value they are made in Queensland) have much better durability at high temperatures, if tracking the car or even heavy driving in the mountains.

Also +1 to supporting independent shops where possible I often find they have better value for money than franchised shops :)

I'm running Redstuff too. Very good pad but i wouldn't say the initial bite is very good at all. They squeal at times in city traffic, but never ever had brake fade with them. They seem to be lasting really well too. I reckon my rotors are wearing worse than the pads! (as new as the pads)
