I have just ordered a set of tein tech s springs for my 04 GT. They seem to be the bees knees around here, hopefully ill be happy with them. Does anyone know how they perform on a normal GT not the Spec B. Have to wait a few weeks for delivery in the meantime i have got a new set of 19's, they came with a set of 235/35 tyres. I have read a lot of your comments saying that most of you run on 225/35. I was just wondering if I will have any scraping issues after i get my springs fitted.?

Phat GT normally does the ordering of Teins for most forum members, and he won't order Teins S.Tech springs for a non-Spec B due to ride height issues. Basically he can't guarantee that they will be level when fitted to non-Bilsteins, as apparently Teins don't make them for non-Spec B's for JDM. So good luck with your fitment and hopefully it turns out alright. Pics please! :D

As for the 19's, depend on the offset of your wheels but 235/35-19 will most likely rub, especially in the back and under load. 225/35-19 may or may not rub, depending on the offset, but more than likely you'll have to roll the back fender.

Yeah im pretty new to this forum, only joined up today. I got the Tein S-Techs from a reputable dealer who rang teins and asked them about fitting them to a gt 04.As for the rims they are 19 with 235/35 offset +45. What is the offset of the standards 17 inch rims? I have asked a few people and get varied answers so i guess i will have to wait and see. I will post pics but it wont be untill i get the teins from japan, mite be couple of weeks

The S Techs are a very firm spring. The stock GT dampers with them will give a very wallowy, uncontrolled ride. Then of course possible ride height issues as Jim pointed out.

What do u mean by wallowy, uncontrolable ride. They gotto be better then getting king springs dont they? Apparently tein make a spring to suit bl5's. Torpedo creative has also put tech s springs on a 07 GT (not B SPEC) and he is quite happy with the vehicles handling and comfort levels. Im hoping mine will be the same, this is only going to be a street car, not track use but just a cruiser. He has also put up some pics of his GT + TEINS thread, It looks nice. I was wondering if anyone else has tried the teins on a normal GT?

If worst comes to worst I might have to invest in a 2nd hand pair of Bills. Any1 know how much that would set me back? Although im hoping this wont be necessary. As for the rims 235/35 19s with +45 offset hopefully will fit. Wont know till I get the springs though.

Torpedo's car came stock with Bilsteins, all post facelift GT's did Spec B or Non Spec B.

I've got S-Tech's on my car without Bilsteins, and I'm not going to lie to you but the ride is exactly has Jim (Tek) described. The stock struts really can't handle such a stiff spring. The ride is very very very harsh, but that might just be me being picky.

In terms of how they sit, mine sit fine. The gap in the wheel arch at the front is slightly bigger than that of the rear, but that's like any spring set up on our cars unless you get coilovers. Your best bet is probably to get Bilsteins with your springs, if I remember correctly there was a set on EBay not too long ago.
