Hi guys & gals, im up for a new set of rubber bands for my 19's so im wondering what everyone with 19's is running tyre wise - manufacturer, sizes, price, etc.

Im looking for something cheap but good quality, thanks all.

i must have missed something there mate, i didnt even know you had 19's!!!!

anywho, im running 235/35/19 hankooks. they cost me around $250 ish a corner, i found that there was plenty of play in the prices with the companies i spoke to.

And "apparently" according to ol mate at the shop, there arent many brands that meet the load limits, or something like that, other may be able to clarify that..

As far as performance goes, im certainly happy with them, they have been put through thier paces and they have put up with my crap pretty well.. They have done prolly about 5000, to 8000 kms, and ive not found any obvious or rapid ware..

hope that helps mate

I'm in the market as well

Thinking Toyo or maybe the hankook

Alot of people run nankangs but have never owned them.

Is 235/35 the best size or is it 225/35 ???

i think ( as i dust off my memory ) that the 225's make it even harder to find, and they are the ones that done meet the load requirement.. i do think tho, im not %100 sure..

Yeah, i was gonna go with the 225/35's, 235's are a bit too wide for my liking.

Falken does a tyre in that size (225) & they're the cheapest quote ive got so far for something decent ("quoted" by my local tyre joint), although ive had no previous experience with falken tyres before so im a bit lost with if they are good or not. :?

I had Falken's on my XT and loved them. A lot of the rexxy boys swear by Falken 452's. There is a new model out now that replaces the 452, not sure what it is.

Motor mag rated the factory fitted Potenza 050 as the best tyre last year...

Yeah, i think im gonna get the falkens, they're probably the best choice i reckon. Id get the potenzas but at close to $800 a corner i could probably get a new set of rims with tyres, just a bit out of my budget right now.

I understand, I'm nearly due for tyres on the Spec B and the Potenza Ferrari tax is making me think I might go to a 235/40 instead of the 215/45, cheaper, haven't checked load ratings or anything yet.

Its a bit hard to say icandy, i didnt really have the car long after i bought the new tyres.

I did find that they were a bit rougher & noisier compared to the pzeros, that could have been caused by the wider profile though :? i moved up to 225/35 from 215/35s

They did produce much better grip than the pzeros too again probably due to profile.

Sorry i couldnt help you much more than this mate.

19 225 35 Tyres
Been doing a lot of research on these and finally choose the Yokohama S Drives for $415 each. Heard these were awesome for the price, so see how it goes. However if you are willing to spend more, try and get the Good Year F1 GS-D3 German Made.. Most of the ones available in OZ are now made in China and don't perform as well as the German ones. These however cost > $500. Dunlop Sport Maxx are great, but are also > $500. If you want budget and still excellent performing tyre, consider the Falken FK452 around $280, these are raved about on many forums and are great value for money. Hankook S1 Evo K107, also a tyre to consider however Jaspert showed me photos of his after a track day, and they were shredded up.

So summary
Bridgestone RE050A > $600 - Have these on the stock wheels, awesome but too expensive!
Good Year F1 GS-D3 around $550 - Highly Recommended if German made
Dunlop Sport Maxx around $550 - Recommended
Yokohama S Drive $415 - Still new but heard lots of good things about them, still not many reviews on the net yet.
Hankook S1 Evo K107 $???
Falken FK452 $280 - Great value for money.

If you have 18 inch tyres - check out the Falken RT615 http://www.carandimage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3039
and Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001 http://control-freak.com.au/
