New Tyre Recommendations

Postby Johnb » Sun Nov 29, 2009 10:16 pm

I'm up for new tyres on my 07 Liberty tuned by STI. I've been pretty happy with the Pirelli Pzero Rossos on the enkeis but now I'm wondering what other tyre options there are.

Has anyone tried the Yokohama Advan V103s?

and I love it. Now with improvements.

yeah, I had the Yoko's before trying a set of Michelin Pilot Preceeda 2's. In hindsight I'd say the V103 was as good as the Michelin except braking and noise. After about 15000km's the tyre wore past the (shallow) cross cuts on the tread and noise increased as a result. They also gave up a little bit early in an emergency stop, or seemed to anyway. The PP2 hasn't been terrible but I was expecting a bit more from them - maybe too much.

There's a number of threads about this topic (Use the search function :D ).

The problem you'll find is that everyone has their own opinions of what tyres are good & which ones are bad... The big thing is making a choice about what you are after... Out right grip / performance... Low noise... Wet weather performance... etc etc etc.
