Bridgestone S001 235 40 18 just fitted at Donellans on the threefour deal!

This is the first time I've had brand new tyres, last 2 sets were S/H :P

Let me know how you find them BBB, I'm seriously considering them as my next set, and RE003s for my occasional trackwork.

I'll second Donnellans at Box Hill - have bought many sets for various cars there over the years.

They always seem to quote the best lowest straight off and do a quality job with no issues.

I got excellent service from Bridgestone at 200 Logan road Woolongabba . The techs aligned the car exactly as I requested ,
and I got the 4 RE 003's for the price of 3 deal . I'll be going back for future rubber / alignment needs for sure .

Hi all,

I don't post here very often as I feel a bit inferior on the knowledge front compared to many of you but thought I would share my recent experience replacing tyres. Have been running 18" Prodrive Pff7s for a while know on the stock sized rubber. Resulted in huge tyre stretch (8" rims with 215/45 rubber). Whilst it looked OK it offered very little rim protection. The perfectionist in me really regrets this.

Knowing the Pzeros were coming to the end of their life I called a few places to see if 235/40s would fit. The rim diameter is perfect but I was worried about clearance because of the poke. The Pff7s are 51mm and stick out a long way. Im on stock suspension but it looked to the eye that it wouldnt fit. After finding nothing on the forum here that was conclusive I asked the guys at Jax Bowen Hills to test fit to see if they worked.

Great news - no scrub, the tyres feel more surefooted i imagine from the perpendicular side wall and the extra Tyre width seems to help with handling.

Ended up with S001s based on the recommendations here. Missed out on any 4 for 3 deal but pleasantly suprised at the much lower cost of 235s compared to the 215s.

Missus noticed the difference in handling too and is happier with an ongoing lower price for tyres!

Happy to recommend the Jax guys. Was happy to pay a bit for a trial fit in case they didn't clear but they didn't even bring it up.

What do you mean by proven, positivfoto?
If a tyre is on retail sale, the customer is protected by consumer laws regardless.
