Was searching through ebay and came across this-

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-06-Su ... 922wt_1167

Is there anyway that this could be fitted to a Aus model? If so..where would it send the readings to?

Just interested! Would be a cool/handy feature!

Oh, good question. I think this is a feature you can upgrade with the USDM Legacy. Not sure if it connects to a centre screen or a simply monitoring display, but if it's the latter you could probably buy the display from Subaru USA.

I have a TPMS fitted. Got it from http://zartronix.com

Here's a pic (scroll down abit) http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1907 and you have to get the sensors fitted at a tyre place that specialise in run flat tyres.

There are cheaper ones available on eBay and different types as well where the sensors are external so you can install it yourself but they look bulky and hold the valve open which I don't like. Then again, replacing them is alot easier. Pros and cons :)

As for the US Legacy, the factory TPMS is very basic and is an indicator only. It only tells you something is wrong and I believe you can't even get at the actual raw data like pressure etc...

I have the permaguard TPMS (through Jax). A much more basic display than yours there Moi. I have it mounted at the top of the windscreen behind and to the right of the mirror. Unless pointed out or searched for, most people wouldn't notice it.

I wasn't interested in the external units as I believe they are screaming out to be stolen..

Wow it's only $360.00 for the 4 wheel kit, that's pretty good value :)

$300 actually.

The other TPMS I was looking at was the Orange TPMS which had the advantage of being able to see all 4 pressure/temps at the same time (rather than scrolling thru the wheels one at a time) but I had a hell of a time trying to get a hold of one.

The only advantage of the Zartronix one is it draws power from the ciggie lighter, its expandability (it can monitor up to 27 wheels) and aussie seller :) Otherwise they are much the same - they monitor pressure, temp, and have battery life and signal strength indicators.

They look awesome and are very handy, Ive had to do a few cars with these fitted and well breaking one isnt the best thing to do nor would the owner be very happy. I got to play around with 1 on a Commodore had someone deflate 1 tyre and see what happened it was beeping as if a bomb was gonna go off lol. Very handy little gadget imo

so the Zartronix one only shows one pressure?

It displays only one tyre's pressure and temperature at a time. But the display automatically scrolls thru the tyres one at a time.

If you check the pic I posted, it's currently displaying the front driver's side tyre. It will then automatically scroll to display the rear driver's side tyre, and so on. I've only got the 4 sensors but the Zartronix one can monitor up to 27 tyres (it's actually meant for trucks)
