Widest Tyre on a Liberty GTB Wheel?

Hey guys

WIll a 245/40/18 tyre fit on a 18" GTB Rim?

245 is far to wide on a 7" rim in my opinion. I'd suggest a 225/40/18 would be ok. There is a member with 235/40/18 but its a bit to much bulge in my opinion - it would make the sidewall flex very noticeable when cornering hard, negating any increase in grip you may achieve.

If it's more grip you're after, go for a good sport tyre in 225/40/18 ;)

or... get wider wheels?

8" wheel will fit fine and can easily get a 235 tyre on it... probably even a 245 if you want to go that wide!

Cheers for that reason I asked was, interested in buying a set on sale... But it's 245/40/18 :( I don't wanna buy new rims! I'm already running 225/40/18 :) if it bulges too much I'll pass

Nope, The side wall sits pretty flush to the rim.
Although the the KU31's have a side wall rim protector, the rubber has a lip extruding from it to protect the rim to a degree.
