Hi Guys
Has anyone here fitted 20" wheels to their liberty ?
if so have you had any troubles as far as not being able to turn full lock , scrubbing out , or speedo being out ?

If you play with http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html you will see that a 215/35R20 is only very slightly larger than the stock 215/45R18.
That's a pretty low profile tyre though, be prepared for a harsh ride.

I found that guide really usefull , now just need to find out about scrubbing etc !!

A few people have had 20's on their Libs... Try CJ, he should be able to give you some advice.

Main thing to be careful with is the off sets.

+1, offsets are what ultimately determine your width of wheel (and therefore tyre) and the ability for it to scrub or damage the guard.

What's the offset? How wide will the wheels be? Is your car lowered? These will determine whether scrubbing/rubbing will occur. If your car is lowered, you'll need to at least roll the fenders in the front. If it's not lowered, it's going to look ridiculous running 20's.

Mine is lowered with coilover, running 20 x 7.5 and no rubbing....I had to roll the front guards a bit though....hope that helps!

My Prodrives have a 51 off set & they are 18 x 8's... Fit nicely & unless I lower it like crazy, no scrubbing etc.

If I was looking for 20's, I'd be looking at something that around 7.5 or 8 wide... Off set between 55 (Think that's the off set on the stock TBI STI rims) & 51... Combined with the correct tyre size (225/30 20?) you should not have any dramas.

Other thing to be aware of is how large you breaks are planning on running... The off set on my rims clears Brembo's nicely ... But then they have a rather large "X Factor" which is another important thing that not many consider.

I'm running Lenso 20 x 8.5 with a +45 offset and a 225 tyre on our wagon.
All gaurds are rolled and I'm running a fair bit of camber front and rear (2.5 front and 1.5 rear).
No problems rubbing so far.

Havnt lowered it or anything yet , everything is stock !!!
just thought it was a good opportunity to throw sum nice wheels under her , as i hit a pretty large pot hole on the way home from bathurst last weekend , which bent 2 rims and ruined to re050a's , wasnt happy !!
didnt know about all this offset buisness though !! was looking at the lenso symphonys or the verde madonna's not sure about the offsets but !!

That is very wise advise from Jim, if you run 20" rims & the tires are not tucking or close to it they look crap......
I had my wheels on for about a week but took them off until i got it lowered a month later because they looked so ridiculous on a standard height vehicle.
