DIY spring change?

hey guys

have been searching for a DIY yourself spring change. i was looking at setting S.Tech Lowering Springs seen on ebay for $300 by the time i get it shipped here.

does anyone have a link or what needs to be done.

i assume changing the springs isn't to difficult but is there anything the needs to be done once changed?

Depending on mileage of your car (>70KKms or so) it is a worthwhile time to replace the bump stops at the same time. Otherwise when they fall apart you gotta pull it all apart again. And with those springs you WILL be hitting the bump stops often so they will wear a lot more quickly .

You also need to get a wheel alignment once you've fitted the springs. You may end up needing camber adjustment bushes on the rear (the front is already adjustable by around 1.5deg using the factory eccentric bolts).

you will need spring compressors to remove your old springs and install your new ones

yeah i was thinking that. i'll have to ring a suspension place and see what they charge to fit the springs.

just thought you might wanna know
the U.S. spec GT's dont have bilstein shocks.
so if the tein s.techs listed are for the USDM GT
then you might have a bit of trouble with fitment.
double check to see if they fit before buying them.

Be wary there are a lot of imitation TEIN springs on the market nowadays.

How did you end up with that price? When I go to the web page, the springs themselves are $178 USD, and the $25 USD shipping price is for North American addresses only.

If you do the shipping calculator at the bottom, the cost of shipping to Australia starts at $179 USD, bringing the total to $357 USD (or about $400 AUD).

u can get a set shipped from the U.S. for about $400AU landed
or pay an extra $150 or so and get them from a local vendor
with warranty/support (peace of mind?) etc...
