So is it a good or bad idea? I still haven't purchased any wheels yet but I am just seeing what sizes I can go with. I was looking at xxr 527. Anyone ran these in the 17s?

Its only a bad idea if you dont allow for the offset. If you plan on running camber and rolling guards then go for it.

I am willing to run camber, but do you have any idea how much camber I will need. And guards will be getting rolled aswell.

A lot, enough to start ruining the life if your tyres. You'll need coulovers and a camber kit to get enough, even then I'm not sure if you'll get them under.

Just go for something with a mid 40s offset and you'll be far better off

+1. Joel, it's not worth the financial pain honestly. Unless you have wads of cash burning a hole in your pocket to correct this properly, just pick a wheel with the better offset.

Hi I'm new to this club but I want to ask a few things about the wheels. I have an '05 Lib with pretty much stocks. I just got a set of SSW 18x7.5" +42 and I want to choose some tyres for it. What would be the best suit and the maximum size? I don't mind rolling the guards but I want a smooth run. Thanks

With those specs you could use a 215, or a 225 if you wanted a bit more tyre on the rim. In regards to rolling guards I think theyd be close to flush but if you're stock height I don't think it will be an issue. You'll have to run very little camber if any

+1. That's a good size to have with little to no other mods to do on the car.

Hey guys, I would like to know safe offsets and widths for a MY07 Tuned by STi. I've seen so many wheels that I would like to buy but unsure of clearances and what not. I know what wheels would clear standard brakes, but unsure of the brembo clearances
First time buying wheels haha. Sorry if asking a nooby question, still learning

Thanks guys!

Only thing that will catch you out is your inner clearance.
Ur running 18s? 99% of 18s should fit and anything bigger will basically tho that goes for all sizes
After that, checking ur spokes to see if they taper in is ur problem, and most of that is trial n error

Oh the joys of bigger brakes!

I'm currently looking at getting my next set of wheels soon, tossing up between...

Koya SF01's in 18x9 +42 F and +36 R
or
Rota P1R's in 18x9.5 +38 all round...

Does anyone have any advice apart from use stretched tyres, run camber and roll my guards?
