A little like 'Rain Man' - you apply Arith-matic to your budget and *bang* there are some new parts.

I think you'll definitely need to roll or even pull your guards if your car is lowered.. Look great though.

Hi all, I am a newbie to this site. Love the thread it has given me inspiration to do my wheels. However, I have encountered a problem! I ordered 18 x 8 +45 and when the wheel guys test fitted the rims they hang out of the front guards by 5mm. He reckoned it was illegal so has recommended I go to 18x7.5 +45.

My question is that many of you have 8" +45 wheels - Do you have issues with the fronts hanging out side the guard?

Thanks

I have 18 x 8 +42, and they're fine. They may stick out the tinest bit out the front but nothing major.

Troy,

I have 18x8 +45 with a 225/40/18 tyre fitted to all 4 corners of my 04 Liberty GT with NO issues on clearance. Guards are 100% factory including plastic gaurds and I have not scrubbed once.
Here is how they sit:

Are you sure your tyre shop didnt fit an incorrect wheel? Otherwise, if they did it in the air without lowering the car, the suspension hang may have caused the top of the wheel to sit with +1 or +2 camber, rather than -1 as when sitting on the ground.

Thanks guys. I did question the wheel size as they were Koya Zeus and the 19" have a +42 but the 18" are +45. They assured me that they were the 18". In any case I just picked up the car this afternoon and had Osaka TG4 fitted. They were basically the only ones in stock any where (apparently) and that fitted my budget.

In the spirit of the thread I'll tell the full story (short) with pictures. Sorry pictures are not very good

Found a set of Advanti Medusa in the trading post for $250 and fitted them. Looked pretty good for what they were. Then hit a pot hole and busted one and have had to pump up the tyre every day - starting to really annoy me. Any way they are no longer available. Could have got a ANZ Ghost and re-fitted the emblems but then I would of had one really nice and new with 3 old ones.
