Lenso DRIFT D1R - Opinions?

Postby garthos » Sat Jun 27, 2009 6:31 pm

Hey Guys,

Over the last couple of months Ive been trying to find myself some new rims, but unable to find the exact style that I wanted and getting very frustrated in the process. I'd pretty much settled for some 18" Black Kuro Intakes until by chance I stumbled across some images of a new Lenso Drift D1R style that simply blew me away, although I coudnt find anywhere in Sydney that stocked them, but after a few enquiries at Tempe Tyres, I was told they should be available mid July.

Im a bit of a fan of the red pinstripes so my initial decision was to go for the black with red pins, but I also like the stealth looking black on black.

Anyways, just wondering what people think of these rims, and how they would go on a 09 2.5i Black Sedan........ ?

They seem to be available in the following sizes;

17 X 7.0
17 X 8.0
17 X 9.0
17 X 10.0

18 X 8.0
18 X 8.5
18 X 9.0
18 X 9.5
18 X 10.0

White/Grey/Black matte finish, with or without the pinstripes.

Our PCD is 5x100. Thus, your choice is limited. Also, our offset is +55 for the standard wheels.

If you were after 17's, then they won't fit due to the +33 offset. If you wanted 18's, then the only width you can get is 8" wide. Now 8" is fine - it will fit. But with the +43 offset, I'd be 'dubious' of the fit... Some one on here may have fitted some that could definitely confirm yah or nah.

Nice looking rim though!

Righto, thanks for the info I guess that does narrow down my options quite a bit. I was after the 18"s and I guess I will need to confirm the fitting from the guys at Tempe before I commit to the purchase.

Fingers crossed

The bloke at Tempe told me they should be around the $1400 mark for the package (wheels, tyres and balancing) which is a pretty cracking deal in my opinion. Not sure about the price in Sterling from the other website, I just used them for the images they had.

Wheelworx in SA are doing the same package for $1850.

So If they are copies, who are Lenso copying them from?

The probably all come from the same factory in China or Taiwan, anyway...

Care to share which Work Emotion you are referring to, because as far as I'm concerned they look nothing like any of them:
  • CR Kai
  • XT7
  • XD9
  • XC8
all look 100% different to the D1Rs

I don't like them... sorry!

I don't think 5 spoke wheels suit the Lib's well on the most part(stock wheels on the pre-face's look ok)...

I think there are heaps more suited wheels available, for around that price... (examples below!)

For the record, as far as I'm aware, there isn't a Work Emotion wheel that looks anything like them either? :?

Examples of more suited wheels which I'm sure you could get for under or around $1500 for the set!

I had a set these on my car a while back when looking for mine. Look really good on a silver and white car. They got lost on my car due to the thin spokes. Awesome looking rim though and available in a few widths.

+1 for this one!
