hey guys
im using my spare atm, as i had a nail puncture. supposedly the nail pncture cant be fixed, its right on the edge.

the tyres are the potenza re05a 215/45 R18 ( lib gt-b my09)

so i am just after buying a spare to replace the spare im using - the busted tyre only had 8000 km on it :(

should i just buy the same one (cost is about $450) ?? or can anyone recommend me a model and let me know how much it would cost approx, as i dont want to be ripped off. Im located in canberra and need to get it today, as its my only day off for a while.

cheers!

edit: stock tyre is bout 550?! just rang a place to get a quote..ouch.
the guy recommended pirelli p zeros , same size for 400...is this cheap?

something to do the job of a spare tire and save you some $$ i would recommend getting Nankang..
they arent the best performance tire BUT will get you out of trouble

With 8000kms on the blown tyre, I would think putting the brand new spare on may cause some issues... Remember, whenever you replace a stuffed tyre, it's wise to change a pair.

Like matt said getting tyres are like buying shoes, you dont buy 1 when the heel of 1 rips open you buy both. When you get ur stuffed tyre replaced and your other front (Im guessing cause thats where they should place it) and ask to keep that tyre, Chuck it in the garage or something. Depending if your spare is a rim or steel rim, If its a steal rim get something of low quality (Nangkangs, Maxi, Federal, Firestones) Whatever tickles ur fancy cause it will only be used on occasions.

Just realised Very late response lmao.

i ended up ordering the stock tyre for 470 :bad:

the blown tyre was the rear driver side.
should i put the new one at the front and change the front to the rear?

hmm i didnt know i should of changed both, should i order in another one and change both? ....gonna be expensive if i do :/

nah, I'd put your spare (which would have been essentially new) on the same axle as the new one you just bought and put the worn tyre in the boot

- edit- front or rear doesn't really matter but the front wears quicker on mine so I'd be putting the newer tyres on the front

You dont have to stick with the stock tyre . Dunno what came stock with my Car but im currently running Blue Streak Stiletto's. Great tyre and fairly cheap, Directional awswell. If i recall correctly Blue streak is the 'cheaper' GoodYear tyre
