4th Gen wheel query

Hello, I have a 3.0 r-b stock wagon with the 18” wheels, but am exploring fitting 17” Outback wheels with higher profile tyres. Does anyone know whether there would be issues, I note they have different ETs (48 vs 55) and the R-B has larger front brakes (316 vs 290) the wheels would need to fit over. I realise the 17 “ GT wheels would work given they had the same brakes, but a set of Outback wheels are available to me.
Thanks in advance

Sorry, I cannot directly answer your question, but I can confirm that 17" GT wheels do fit over the brakes.
I happen to have a set of four GT wheels sitting in my garage that are no longer needed... ;-)

The 316mm diameter front brakes are classified by Subaru as "17 inch brakes"

While the 316mm diameter front brakes were used on H6 and GT Gen4 Libertys the H6 BP Outbacks used 294mm (16 inch) front brakes.
I do not foresee any issues running ET48 17 inch wheels over the 316mm diameter brakes.

Thanks for your responses, and for the offer for GT wheels. At this stage I would prefer Outback wheels for the extra sidewall.

I don't follow. 17" wheels are 17" wheels. The sidewall is a feature of the tyre you put on the wheels.
Are you wanting wheels that have some decent Outback tyres on them already?
These GT wheels have some 215/45R17 tyres on them, with just legal tread, but they are pretty old.
Gen 3 Outback tyres were 215/55R17, so slightly higher profile.
I assumed you were going to put new tyres on the wheels.
