So I have rebuilt the entire suspension and brakes.
I have King KSFL-42 front and KSRL-29 rear.
The car sits well and looks well proportioned.
The rear with KYB Excel G shocks ride perfect.
The front with KYB New SR Specials struts rides harsh. They have been in now for around 3,000 km. I have finally made up my mind, they are just a bit too harsh for me. A step lower on spring rate is desired while maintaining at least close to current ride heights.
I am reading the KSFL-42SP is the correct front spring.

If I swap front springs to SP will this cure my problem? Or am I better off using something like a STi pink?

What is the claimed difference between King KSFL-42 front and King KSFL-42SP front?

42 has a spring rate of 4.8, 42SP I think 3.9 kg/mm.
So softer, don't know about height. I think SP may be lower?
Current stance is perfect.

I used the king Springs contact form and surprisingly (as a general statement) I received an answer about 2 hours later: The SP would lower the car a further approx 25 mm.

This is pretty good service from Kings Springs honestly.

Height is currently perfect, especially with the 'stock' height rear springs.

I will reiterate that there is nothing wrong with the Springs, handling and height is perfect and my wife loves it (its her car), I am 44 and finding the car a bit harsh say when running errands for 1 hour + etc.

I'm looking at STi pinks, but these are 3.9 kg which is barely more than stock - which is 3.5 kg and I think made to pair with Bilsteins, which being a high pressure monotube are a hard shock. The KYB SR's ride pretty well, they are a twin tube with a divergent rebound curve, pretty nice.

My current favourite are the Espelir made for the Spec B (which we have) and are 20-25 mm lowered: https://www.blackhawkjapan.com/products ... 2147628323

I can get fronts only for $270 shipped or add the rears for an extra $135 shipped, and while I don't plan on swapping the King rears out as they are perfect, it may be good insurance to have a complete matched set In case my guessing doesn't pan out).

The Espelir is 4.3kg front, progressive and I have read their springs ride nice. rears are 7.2 kg surprisingly stiffer than the current Kings at 6.2 kg which is still stiffer than stock at 5 kg.

I'm thinking the Espelir are the 'Goldilocks option' - not too low at 20-25 mm lower and a good chance on matching the existing 'stance' and still 4.3 kg, 0.5 less than current so will be 14 % softer, but still 20% stiffer than stock. Hopefully retaining the nimble handling but 'taking the edge off'.

I guess I can either go the Pinks front and go a lot softer but be virtually guaranteed I will match the current stance, or chance the Espelir option but not take a handling hit.
