CV Joint Click?
HI Guys,
Need to pick some of you suspension/driveline guys brains
My MY05 Wagon has developed a "click" when turning left (coming from the FRHS wheel).. Now at first that rang the CV joint alarm bell straight away.. its got the usual tick tick tick. How ever I have never heard of a faulty CV joint that does the following:
- Clicking only occurs when turning left, never when turning right
- Clicking randomly occurs when no lock is applied, steering is straight ahead?
- I can get it to click almost always (just one or two clicks) when I accelerate, brake or come off the gas (with out touching the brake)
To give you a bit of background, I am running slotted rotors (but given that under light application, there is no continuing clicking, I don’t think this could be the cause)
Also fitted are, whiteline sway bars, KG/MM Springs & bilstein shocks..
I haven’t actually jacked up the car yet and had a look, probably wont until the weekend, Wanted to pick your brains in preparation!
Cheers guys, and sorry for the epic post!
Chris
