I'm looking at purchasing a new set of wheels over the next week, would like to give my 05 GT a nicer look.

Am after peoples thoughts on whether just a set of 19's would look better than a set of 18's with lowered Tien S or H Tech's.
I've noticed finding reasonably priced tyres for 19's is somewhat difficult !!

If your budget allows, go 19's

There are some photo's floating around with both the setup's you asked about.

The car will be better to drive (street or track) with the 18s, especially with some quality, lightweight rims coupled with slight lowering.

I have 18's and teins, after a while the 18's don't look that big really.

The thinner your tires, the more attention is attracted to that area and the more apparent your fender gap is. So if you go 19's without a lowering, it looks really awkward and ... is Shane around? ... even rice. Not a very good look at all IMO.

So if your budget only allows for one or the other, I'd probably go 18's with lowering. This will provide a more comfortable as well. But it won't have that 'wow' factor that only 19's can provide. If that's what you're after, I'd save up and do 19's with lowering.

19's are cool....just dont get chrome...lol

i run 17's original buddy, if i was to change them 18's would be my max as the ride i have now is not so comfy

Aside from the look, in which most cases people will tell you to go 19's... Have you thought about the ride quality?

If you go 19's you'll more then likely have to run something like 35 profile tyres which will give you a pretty firm ride & as others have said, don't really do you any benefit on the track etc.

Choice is yours mate & in the end you've got to live with the choice you make. Personally, 18's are probably the best overall option for a daily driver... But 19's will look sh!t hot with the right design, you just might have a sore ass after driving

The right tire with the right suspension setup, as long as you don't go nuts and lower it to a crazy level, can be quite comfortable and tolerant.

Depends on how much your willing to tolerate when it comes to harshness. 19's do feel harsher but it's not intolerable. I quite like it actually.

Maybe it would be a good idea to go to one of the meets and take a ride in the different liberties to help you decide.

are you in sydney i take you for a ride...i have tien springs and bilstein suspension running 215/45/17. when i brought the car and it was standard it was a pretty good ride. i went to whitline control springs which lowered the front 40mm and the rear about 5mm, ride was good but was not happy how the car sat. now it is 45mm front and 35mm rear. harsh on some bump and very tiring on long runs...shane
