I have a 08 subaru gt spec b wagon. At about 80 k had a viscous coupling replaced by a recon unit bought from Corgiwerx. Now 30k later I find that on turning left there is a thrumming sound, not when turning rt. I have to be on the move to hear the sound. Accelerating the sound reduces and when taking foot off accelerator, slowing down the sound becomes louder. Any suggestions.

It it were my car, I’d start with a visual inspection, then use a contact microphone on various suspension parts to amplify the sound.

Probably starting with the brake shields, knuckle then arms etc.

Bearings/tie rod test is raise car, wiggle wheel L & R to check tie rods, up & down for bearings.

Since the issue is power on/off related, CV’s are a potential source of the sound.

Failing a diagnosis I’d be tempted to use my local driveshaft shop (A1 driveshaft in Collingwood etc) or get an opinion from my trusted local garage (little sams).
