WASABI Get's New Shoes

Hi Guys!

I’ve purchased myself the below rims to clear the Brembos I shall have on my car in the not too distant future (Cheers Leo! :D):

Image
Prodrive PFF-7

Yes, your eyes are working correctly, they are gold! Sadly it was the only colour that was available as Prodrive has discontinued this model / style.

I purchased them with the intention to powder coat them… & there lays the question… What colour should I go?

I’ve had some people say keep them gold, other’s have said go black (Matte, Satin or Gloss) or of course keep the current colour of my Spec B rims.

When I drop the rims off, I’m going to make sure to check out the various finishes available, but I figured I’d get the opinions of my fellow Liberty drivers.

Here are a few pictures of my car & a picture of the rims in silver – So if anyone is gifted in photo shop, would be nice to see what they would look like on the car in various colours / finishes (*cough* mason_luke *cough*).

Cheers
Matt

I've always been partial to the naked alloy look. Not sure how it would look on the silver wagon though.

Oh, and nice choice on the design. I likey very much. What size did you end up getting?

What ever you do... DON'T leave them gold cause it would take away from the gold nuggets (Brembo's) you are gonna put in.

Gun metal or black buddy :)

I don't use photoshop that much but I've given it a go with the silver's:

The front looks alright but the rear one pops out from the shadow making it look weird. Gave it my best shot :P

They are 18 x 8's, which should fit nicely under my guards (Finger crossed I won't have to roll them) :D

Too bad there's none left full stop (Not to suit Liberty's anyway). I was actually dealing direct with the importer :D I wish I could've gotten the pewter colour, I think it's awesome :D

 All Subaru owners love the pink bits :P

Not officially on the market, but I've already got 2 people who are keen on them. If they fall through, they'll be in the for sale section :D Should know within the next few weeks.

I'm only changing the rims to fit the Brembos. Sort of annoying they don't fit.

Personally, I don't mind the current colour I have, but I thought maybe a change is in order. I think the Spec B rims suit that carcoal colour nicely, but I think these Prodrive rims might look a little better in another colour... :?:

For anyone who would suggest a different colour, here is the powder coating colour charts for you to checkout :D :

Not the best colour chart IMO, or maybe it's just my screen :P Either way, it's all I've got to work with until I go down there & check out some physical samples.

Vivica Charcoal Metallic gets my vote! It'll be matching the STi wheels. Otherwise Excel Charcoal in Satin looks good.

The charcoal of your spec B rims is quite dark but an excellent choice. Black looks too dark and it's good to have a bit of shine to help with cleaning.

Nice rims, look forward to the result.

Thanks for the input guys :D

Well at this stage the rims are going to stay gold. Sadly, the whole Brembo thing feel through, so technically I have 3 sets of rims for my car :P

So I'm going to leave them as is for awhile, & I'll get them powder coated early next year. Gives me some more time to think about colours & maybe even new tyre choice :D

So just a heads up, if anyone is interested in my Spec B rims, they may be on the market really soon - Have a few parties interested at the moment, just waiting for replies - So if anyone else is seriously interested, PM me for details :)
