Liberty Gen 5 Concave wheel options

Postby Azza38 » Sat May 09, 2020 2:43 pm

Hi Folks, my names Aaron, I just recently joined the forum.
I was hoping a few of you guys might be able to help with some concave wheel advice and maybe a few links.
I’m not the best at understanding what is going to fit and what isn’t.
I understand that I need a 5x100 PCD but I’m hoping someone on here might already know of some concave options with a 9.5 width or at the minimum 9 and hopefully in a 19 inch that would fit a 2011 Liberty GT Gen 5 without having to modify and roll guards etc, the car is at standard height and will be staying that way.
I’m looking for the stance with rims coming out slightly from guards or at the least flush with guards, and after gloss black or possibly matte black wheels.
Any info/links on suitable options that wouldn’t need modification would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers ✌️

Hi Anza
Welcome firstly.
Use the search functions in the forum to see what suits. From memory of conversations past you won’t get a 9 inch on without rolling guards.

I have a feeling there are some 8’s that suit but I will leave that to others to chip in.

I don’t think spacers help because, again from memory...which is dodgy at best, it is the front guards that restrict width.

Hey mate and welcome.

Another gen 5 owner! That's been like 3 in the last few weeks haha. Good to see its popularity growing.

These threads on Legacygt.com (US site) will give you ideas and feedback on what fits and what needs work.

Thanks heaps mate, I will continue searching on the forum for more info. Sounds like rolling of guards might have to be the go if I’m to get the stance I’m after. Cheers

KMC wheels has a selection of concave rims but they only have it in 18's and 20's.

Hey Aaron, don’t forget to screenshot or bookmark examples of the look you’re after from the links above.

Imho poke looks great at a realistic height, guard rolling will likely be required.

This GenV is probably one of the most highly developed examples in Aus, it’s running 18 9.5 +43 with just a little poke.

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=20495&start=195#p430440

In that spec reducing the offset number means gaining poke, eg 18 9.5 +38 will poke 5mm more.

Bear in mind spacers are not legal, neither is too much poke.

Have a play with a rim n tyre calculator to get an idea of how it all works in practice, I use willtheyfit com and rimsntyres com.

I took a stab into the middle of the first link from above and found Ebo3’s pics...

19 9.5 +43 “with coilovers you can run 275 tyres”... that’ll do it :P
