Thanks, much appreciated.

I did a call around to find out labour only costs of fitting the whiteline LCA bushes, front end links and stabiliser D bushes:
$680 - subaru dealer (quoted me $440 to change out LCA bushes including parts previously, how is unbolting the 2 D clamps worth $240 in labour + parts cost)
$350-450 - newport place (didn't mention it was whiteline, just said I had the parts already)
$184+GST and 2.33 hours - maribyrnong supertune (told them it was whiteline gear)

Now waiting for tyresales.com.au to deliver to Supertune.

Hey, if they balance, they’ll skid.

Via the FB group: S007a is the new upgrade from S001, apparently better performance over S001 in every spec, including grip and wear. Definitely considering them for my next set, I’ll be looking out for reviews...

I had 2 sets of the Falken tyres and i couldn't fault them at the time but....I have since changed to Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and oh boy wowee they are night and day.

The PS4 have so much grip in the wet and little road noise compared to the Falkens.

I went to a 225/40/18 and have had no issues at all. Plus they are a better price. A set of 4 fitted and balanced for $760 at Bob Jane in Adelaide CBD.

We have several rexs and an STi and we have tried all the top brands over the years and the winner hands down are bridgstone RE003s.. We have them on 3 and RE002s on 1 and Michelin Pilot Sport 3s on another and they will all be getting RE003s next time.. Bridgstone is doing 4 for the price of 3 ATM and you can get a set 215 45 17 for $585 fitted and balanced..They are awsome wet or dry as well the sti spends winters in Thredbo and they are good in snow and ice, not that anything is very good on ice except steel spikes...LOL...We have tried Nitto, Nexin, Kumho, Goodyear and Federal and none compare, especially in the wet...

No...Sorry, can't comment on those..They don't get much of a mention on the WRX clubs.

+1 for the S001s. I've had them for many years and over 40,000km. They just stick in all conditions, and they're quiet. They're getting a little bit louder now that they're getting close to being due for replacement, but it's barely noticeable.

But I'll definitely check out the S007a, if they're the next big thing from Bridgestone. Thanks Ben :D

Great read, good perspective.
Interesting they mounted 245’s on 8” rims...

Hi all,

Sorry to revive an old thread.

Currently running S001's and will be due for some new rubber soon. Thinking of sticking with the standard size on stock 18inch GT Spec B rims.

Anybody had any more recent experience with good tyres, or heard of a good deal going at the moment?

Thanks in advance

All our Subarus bar 2 are now running Michelin PS4s... Those 2 will end up with the Pilot 4 sports as well when they get new tyres.. The first set went on the STi and perform better than the RE003s that it has previously.. AWESOME tyres...

Wow!
Would you care to elaborate?

I’d consider a set, but only because Gordon Murray says Michelin are doing good things at this moment.
