Need advice - buying wheels and sizing

Postby Shaheenis » Thu Nov 23, 2017 4:52 pm

Guys,

I am looking to fit some new wheels to my wagon. I am currently running 235/40/18 tyres on stock GTB rims which haven't caused me any issues but I have always wanted a change of wheel (for a change) and could prefer to have a bit more wheel width under those tyres.

After hours of searching the net I have decided the Rota's are best bang for buck and there are a couple of styles I like.

The question is should I go for 8.0 or 8.5 inch wheels? I am leaning toward 8.0 but if I am running 235 tyres does it actually matter? I DONT want to roll guards and yes the car is lowered on billies with swifts. I want a wheel that will be flush with the outside of the guard so recommendations on offsets to achieve that would be appreciated. The Rotas are +44

This awesome thread gives good advice on offsets etc viewtopic.php?f=12&t=98

Cheers,
Shaheenis

18x8 +44

No roll required with a 235/40/18, just a touch of camber. Which the rear will naturally have after lowering & you can get put into the front during alignment.

Thanks Troy your a champ. Exactly what I needed to know. I am assuming no rolled guards required.

Negatory.
Touch of camber is all it needs to pull the tops in a bit.
