Feeling lost - Legacy Diesel - Suspension upgrade

Postby *thomas* » Sat Sep 23, 2017 6:34 am

Hi all

I recenlty bought a Legacy BP (wagon) with the notorious diesel lump. Fortunately, it the engine has already been replaced, so that's one less thing to worry about.

With 250 000km on original suspenion components, it does not feel as solid as it should.

I was looking into fitting some Bilstein B6's on the car, but don't know what springs I should use. I would like the car to sit a tad bit lower, but not more than 20mm.

Could I use 3.0R spec B OEM springs on the car? Or should I go with 2.0GT sti pinks? The diesel weighs 30kgs more than a 2.0GT and 30kg less compared to a 3.0R.

So, the options:

- B6 with 3.0R spec B front and rear
- B6 with 2.0GT STI front and rear
- B6 with 3.0R spec B front and normal spring rear
- B6 with 2.0GT STI front and normal spring rear

Any other advise is welcome.
