Coming up for new tyres this month.
Currently using Mich PS3 but have found Hankook Ventus V2 concept2 @ $650 for 4.
Anyone had bad experiences with Hankook ?

I never have. I run K120 on my Lib and RS-3 on my Skyline.

BTW those V2 (H457) are 'all season' tyres, I wouldn't go with them, more like S1 Noble or similar. Tyre size?

Now that I look at tyresales I remember the ones I had before the Mich PS3, Yoko C Drives. These were excellent and only switched due to a sale on the Mich (and that my local doesn't stock Yokoss)

Wound up getting a full set of Bridgestone RE003s for $570 with a wheel balance from Bob Jane Doncaster yesterday. They currently have a 4 for 3 deal and if you call around and get quotes, you can improve your prices further. Only dry driving done thus far, so too early to tell how good they'll be. Although the aggregate consensus on this review website seems positive...

Have also taken the opportunity this week to put on some new slotted rotors and a set of Bendix STR pads (rear only). Still running Hawk Ceramic pads on the front. Car's driving nicely and still making me smile.

That's a great price for RE003s!! I'd definitely recommend them at that price. I'd be interested to see what S001s are with the current special.
The S001s were cheaper when I bought mine, but there's usually not a huge difference between them (in price and performance).

It depends what you're looking for in a tyre though. The S001 is marketed as more of a high-performance Luxury GT Car tyre (came from the factory on the Ferrari 458 for a while, various high-powered Audi RS models, Aston Martin Rapide etc).
Whereas the RE003 is more of an enthusiast tyre.

People who tried both back-to-back generally preferred the S001s (eg eduard0 on his GenV Liberty). I really like my S00s, but I haven't personally tried the RE003. But eduard0 has, so I'll paste some of his comments below - credit to him for most of the detailed info:

Because of GT Car target market, for NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) the S001 wins hands down. They are much quieter and seem to have less rolling resistance (which makes sense given the 280 treadwear vs. the 220 on the REs), to the point where I can coast and maintain speed for significantly longer.

Lateral grip, the REs seem to have an edge when you push them and get a flow on through fast corners, at least initially. As they aged, this became less so.
The initial bite turning in on the S001 is much greater. To the point where as long as you know you're not going to unsettle them by pushing sideways, you can enter corners much harder and pull in much sharper. The REs fight too much to make that practical most of the time.

Wet weather performance is equal on the road. But on wet grass etc, the S001 is slightly less well behaved. It will break traction with ESC on with about 2/3 throttle, where the REs you had to hammer the throttle to come unstuck there. That may be an indicator of how things would be on a properly slippery surface like ice or moderate depth water, where aquaplaning is likely.

Launching can be done much harder with the S001 vs the REs. They don't seem to hold you back as much as. At the drags, the launch and 60' was severely negatively impacted. I'd say like-for-like, 0-100 on the bum dyno feels a good half a second or so different.

Generally speaking, I'm more happy with the S001 as a street tyre. I'm not sure how they'd go for the circuit compared to the REs. But if they're for a daily, or primarily street use, then even if the S001 are $20 or so more a corner, I don't see any compelling reason to choose the RE. The vehicle dynamics are massively different, so if you're used to the S series, you'll likely be disappointed with the RE compared to the hype they're receiving. They're an adequate tyre -- certainly one of the best around in that market segment for the money -- but everyone raving that they're the best thing out have fucking rocks in their head.

I had a quick look at S001 reviews on there, and the average is quite a bit lower (3.2/5 vs 4.7/5 for the RE003).

I guess it depends what people are looking for in a tyre. Or it's because a lot of people have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to an objective review of tyre performance .

I heard RE003 get noisy as they wear

After having seen the track with both S001 and PS4, I'd take the PS4 any day. Night and day difference in grip, the PS4 feels like a completely different level. At the same price I really don't see why anyone would go for S001 unless it lasted significantly longer, on road they both feel compliant enough (however I'm not really one to care about NVH day to day). Can't say I've tried the RE003s though. My 2c.

Yeah, according to people like Matt Farrah and other automotive journalists who drive a lot of performance cars, they rate the Michelin PS4 (previously the Pilot Super Sports) as the best summer performance tyre.

The last time I checked, they were $100 more per tyre than the ones from Bridgestone. But that's before the PS4s came out, so maybe they're more reasonable priced now. I paid $298ea for mine (which wasn't on special), and Michelins were low $400ea. I'd be interested to see what they cost these days though.
If that's within someone's budget, then go for it. The PS4s come highly recommended by almost everyone that has used them, no doubt about that.

I thought it was, but after a quick search for Matt Farrah Michelin, it is the PS4S (an extra S at the end). I don't know how that compares to the one in your link, but it's a good price!

If the links you posted is anything to go by, they're cheaper than the PSS was (the previous top-of-the-range model). The link below shows the RRP was $449ea (they're now on special because they're a clearance item - the old model).

Does anyone have experience with 235/40/18s on a GenV (vs 225/25/18 stock)? There's a small difference in diameter (~2%), and I assume the small extra width doesn't cause issues with clearance. They're about ~$60 cheaper per tyre for 003's, so it's tempting...
