gen 4 - steel vs alloy lower control arms

My blitzen has the steel front control arms but I see the spec B came with the alloy ones. Does anyone know if there are any geometrical differences between the two or is it just a weight thing?

Weight, but IIRC the balljoints mount differently - but it doesn't make a material difference.
