Springs, shock absorbers, swaybars,
Brakes, Wheels and Tyres

Hi There
Can anyone tell me whether Bilstein shocks and springs were standard on the 2013 manual Subaru Liberty GT Wagon?
If not, would it handle better or worse with them fitted?
Cheers
Mel

I was under the impression that they were standard on the GT.
Best way to check is see if the struts are yellow or not.

Thanks for the response. I'm looking at one at a dealer, which has bilsteins. The dealer says they have been added on but I'm trying to work out whether that is right or whether they were standard.
Cheers

The dealer is confused with the older gen 4 that had the option of spec B.
Not surprised if the dealer doesn't have their facts right. I used to be the F + I guy at a Subaru dealer and knew more about the cars than the sales team.
But yes, bilsteins are nicer than KYB as I did do that upgrade when I had a Gen 4.

Hi Surge
Do you mean they were standard in the gen4 spec b but not in any of the gen 5s?
Cheers

No sorry what I was trying to say was that they were standard on the Gen V GTs.
However not standard on the gen 4 GTs and in order to get them back then you had to choose the spec B.
The dealer probably thinks it didn't change for the gen V.
Also the parts department should know better than the sales team.
The sales team is usually to lazy to double check their facts with the parts team.

Surge is 100% right. All 2010-15 Gen V GT had yellow Bilsteins as stock.
