Brake Upgrade.

Postby Herpetology » Mon Jul 04, 2016 10:18 am

Hi Guys,

What precautions should I take before upgrading my 2007 N/A 2.5i brakes to bigger better brakes of the GT models.

From my knowledge I will need to have at least 17inch wheels to fit the discs, are there any other things to know?

What will I need for the upgrade?

I need 261mm rotors for the front and 254mm for the back wheels.

I also need the calipers that match, am I missing anything? Eg, new brake lines, different type of brake fluid?

The GT / GT-B / 3.0R Spec-B brakes are 316 x 30 mm rotors on the front and 290 x 18 mm ventilated rotors on the rear.

Oops my bad, I read the guide wrong I read the Effective disc diameter not the Outer
diameter.

So to confirm I just need to buy a calipers from a 2.5 GT so I should be okay to buy the above size rotors and install without an issue.

Rotors PLUS calipers
Plus possibly 17inch preface wheels (minimum)
I cannot say whether the six spoke 17 inch wheels clear the 17 inch brakes??? Just do not know. You need to check
