I've enjoyed my 2005 Liberty GT Wagon for a couple of months now - I replaced the McIntosh head unit and stock amp and replaced a couple of trim pieces. It's now time to address the suspension.
Driving style and frequency?
The Liberty was meant to be taken on a few long country drives but I enjoy it so much, I'm driving it to work (about 15km away in city traffic) 3 days a week! I want a suspension setup that isn't bone jarring but keeps the handling, grip and steering tight for the weekend blasts.
What needs replacing now?
The car has done about 220,000km. The rear is a little loose and I hear a noise up front when I hit some bumps so I had a look. The front lower control arm bushings looked shagged. The left rear shock has a small leak. The right one doesn't look any better.
What do I want to do?
Lower the car about 25mm, replace all 4 shocks (the fronts look ok but they are all original parts), get some springs to suit and fit polyurethane bushings for any that are worn.
Parts that I am thinking of?
- Koni Sport shocks http://www.koni.com/Cars/Products/Sport-Tuning/Sport/
- King Springs http://kingsprings.com.au/catalogue/veh ... -2003-2009
- SuperPro bushings http://www.superpro.com.au/find/superpr ... -999500252
Has anyone had any experience with the above setup / parts on their 4GEN Liberty? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Wheaties.
