MY07 GT Spec B - Will 17" rims fit?

Postby tkau007 » Sun Apr 03, 2016 11:18 am

Hi All,

I'm the proud new owner of a MY07 GT Spec B Manual Wagon.

I've had a bit of a search here about tyres and rims but not found what I'm looking for.

Unsurprisingly, most talk is about going bigger in rim size rather than smaller!

I've got a set of 225/45/17 snow tyres from an Audi S4 which I'd really like to use on my Subie as I'm based in the mountains.

My question for you all is, will a 17" rim fit? I'm mainly concerned about brake clearance (standard brakes).

I'd be looking at a 17 x 7.5 rim. Any advice as to offset also would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone had some for sale...

Thanks in advance all.

Iirc, stocko lib 17" rims, Foz, Impreza wrx 17's etc should all work as long as you're running stock lib GT brakes.
Stock offsets are usually in the +55 to +50 region.
Use an online tyre/rim calc to see what the speedo reading will be compared to your current setup.
See this link for finer detail eg ideal rim width for your tyres...

Which points out that you'll also be fine with a 7"-8" rim for that tyre

Go and see Andrew Penny at Kosi Auto out the front of the Snowline Caravan Park. He'll sort out any questions you have about anything Subaru.
