KYB shocks

Postby Cutscutler » Thu Feb 18, 2016 10:10 pm

Hi,
My07 Liberty gtb shocks are on the way out. Got a price of pedders for some springs and shocks. My mechanic got a price of some KYB springs and shocks for around $600 less. Has anyone heard of this brand and if so are they any good. I've never heard of them myself and not sure if there any good.

Thanks

KYB are the makers of the standard shocks for everything but the Spec Bs. They also do aftermarket setups so it will depend on which model your mechanic has found you as to whether it's a good price or not. If they are the standard replacement for a GT then you're going backwards.

pedders/Monroe/KYB will do the job as an everyday drive but they are far from performance inspiring. Unfortunately there isn't a lot out there that is for an affordable price. Most are going Bilstein's or coilovers.

For legal reasons I will end up going Bilstein's myself once my Monroe's die. Unless I can find some Koni Adjustables that will fit my car?

Decided to go bilstein. Only the front ones need replacing for now so will save some coin there. Will do the rears next service.

Good decision. Splits up the cost as well.
