Just Bought a Brand New Set of 08 STi Enkeis!

Postby Swipez » Tue Feb 09, 2016 5:48 pm

Hi guys, not too much point to this post, but just want to share what a bargain I got in the last week...

I put a deposit on a brand new set of XXR 550 Chromium Black wheels. They were 18x8.75, +40. I don't care who says what, but you CANNOT fit this size wheel on a gen 4 Spec B whilst maintaining legal guard poke and not sacrificing any practicality. So I was a bit disheartened at buying the rims, but I got sucked into how pretty they looked, blinded to the reality of them NOT fitting. With my luck, highway patrol would have been right on my arse. However, I decide to have one last look on Gumtree, and bam... Brand new 08 STi Liberty Enkeis for sale. I jumped straight onto them, cancelled the order for the other wheels. Got the enkeis posted from WA to Sydney. Got them for a stupidly good price. Got them whacked on today, and they look so at home (obviously). Very excited. Very happy. Just gotta put some RE003s on them soon, as Pirellis are a bit old now.

Here's some pics:

Nup, these are genuine TB STi Liberty enkeis. Made specifically for the 2008 Liberty Spec B TB STi. Which there were only 300 of Australia wide. 5x100 18x7.5 +55.

So is it a turbo bonnet on an N/A car?

That is correct... What's your point?

Many n/a cars have bonnet scoops. My old celica did from factory. This car is aesthetically a TB STi, just with a 3.0L H6 instead of the turbo 4. I personally like 6 cylinders more than 4s. Plus I love the look of the bonnet, why should I not be able to enjoy that just because I don't have a turbo? It's my car, my hard earned money. It will be supercharged in the future too, so an intercooler will close to that scoop anyway. It's funny when you take down an SS, or some other quick cars, and then you tell them it's n/a, they don't like that very much. Imagine if I pulled up next you at a set of lights.... You'd be thinking "oh, that doesn't look too bad, nice" then you'd hear it take off and you'd think wtf?! It's good to see people's reactions when they don't know what's going on.

Thanks Alexei, means a lot. And I'm just very cynical when it comes to Internet media or even when dealing with many ppl irl. It makes it harder too when it's just text, you can't gauge a person's emotion and tone behind the dialogue. I work in retail, and have for a long time, it has aged me very badly.... I work on weekends, I think that's why.... I apologise for when I get a bit harsh, I'm just used to people having digs and/or whinging. Trust me, I'm working on it lol.

..... Apologies to legacylad... I had a bad day that day... :(
