Quietest tires you can get

Postby AAA » Mon Oct 05, 2015 10:05 pm

Hi guys,

So I have a lib wagon...and road noise is pretty loud. Especially annoying when you are driving 6 hours every weekend!

What are the quietest tires you have used /know of?
I currently have the stock re050 and they are very loud.

Thanks in advance

S001 isnt too bad. Ps3 are loud! I had them on an s15 with noticable tire roar.

The wagon is just badly insulated so the quitest tire really gelps

Probably also invest in some dynamat for the rear, and block out a day to swear at it

Bummer, I was hoping they would be quite. My MOMO M3s aren't too bad, a lot quiter than the Kumhos KH22 that were on there lol.

Continental MC5's are excellent in traction and low in noise as far as Im concerned. Get on the 4 for 3 deal at Bob Jane for the best buys.

My vote would be for the Michelin Primacy 3 ST.

The trick (for me) will be finding the right size...

Called Bob Jane, they recommended Yokohama advan ae50. They said the Conti MC5 is made in China and it is a cheap tyre (not my words). I had a read on the reviews, seems like a decent amount of people have had blow outs.

Jax recommended the Michellin Primary 3 ST.

If you guys had a choice between the two which would you chose?

First I knew about this and I did research. Between the other 2 you can't go wrong either. Michelin and Yoko are both top brands.

FYI Bob jane match prices and beat by 10%. I found the primacy 3 st for $240 on jax website after their discount for 4 tires. So hopefully bob jane takes $24 off that!

Another vote for the primacy 3's.
Excellent allround tire with longevity and very low road noise.

I ran 1 set of Michelin XM1's and 2 sets of Michelin XM2's on my XS Forester, the 2nd set are still on it at the moment.
They suit the Forester very well for Hwy - Town running, they grip well in wet & dry conditions and are quiet on the Hwy.

I now have a Honda CRV and will be due for new tyres soon and I'm already looking for a Michelin tyre to suit. :D
