Whiteline swaybars hitting suspension components.

Hi Guys,

I got a white line kit (BSK014) last christmas or so, which included end-links, front + rear sway bars and bushings. My mechanic has mentioned that the sway bars, both front and rear are hitting the steering arm and another suspension part at the back (I ran out of time to have a look today and I can't remember what he mentioned it was).

I've attached some images below, has anyone else ran in to this issue?
That kit number states that its for an 07 Liberty, so I have no idea on whats going on...

Sorry for the blurry photos, these were frames from a video I took :)

hey mate,

did you get any of the gold things (rhs) of this pic?

I got a kit at the start of the year. Only after i ordered i heard (via forum threads somewhere) that the whiteline ones are known to move around, and that the new kits were coming with lateral locks (like above).

GL, gimme a call if you need a hand looking at it

Check that they've been installed the right way up for starters...

So I finally got around to looking at these again after making some adjustments. The rear I moved to the other (softer?) hole, which has now meant the sway bar hasn't touched the driveshaft since, but the rubber on the end link has touched and warn some off. Now there must be debris in the joint and it is making a squeaking noise.

The front I couldn't do much with, possibly having shorter end links would help, but they were already on the shortest they could be.

I put some spray paint on the front to see if it touched again, unfortunately it has. I honestly have a feeling that it doesn't touch much at all, I can't feel any wearing on the steering shaft.

Yeah I got some lateral locks installed as part of the kit.

Yes they are installed the correct way up. Compared with a mates to ensure this.

Mine are still doing it on the hardest setting for the front too. My rears seem ok. If it didn't have the correct sticker on it I would have sworn It was a bar for some other model. Even on the shortest setting my endlinks kinda just roll forwards and let the bar touch the tie rod. Can't see any way for it not to happen really short of tucking the bar right up and then I think it'll touch in a different spot.

What front bar did you specifically get?
Mines BSF30Z

Seem to be a few Impreza guys with similar problems from a quick search on NASIOC

I've received replacement end links and front bar. Slightly different shape. Time will tell if this issue is gone away now.

Damn that took a while to get sorted out, but good to see nonetheless. Sure it will, didn't take much of a shape difference for my replacement one to fit. Your replacemnet one doesn't really look anything like the replacement one I recieved strangely.
