Need help with wheel and tyre sizes

Postby 30RSPECB » Thu Oct 01, 2015 4:29 pm

Hey Guys,

I have an 04 3.0R Wagon, as it's the Spec.B, I believe the stock wheel size is 18"x7 with a 55mm offset. Stock tyres are 215/45/18.

Reading the forums I've gotten the impression that this is an uncommon size and could make tyres more expensive. Would I be better off moving to 17x8? Then use 225s?

I'm a fan of the ADVAN RACING RSII, of this list which is the most suited size? Do they clear Brembros? Not looking to roll-guards or change ride height. http://www.yokohama.com.au/ADVAN-Wheels/ADVAN-RSII.aspx

Also, came across these on eBay, would they be appropriate? Lehrmeister LM-S 18" x 7.5" +50 5x100 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lehrmeister- ... 1395906181

Any help would be appreciated!

Chris

Most people run 225/40/18 on either the 7 or 7.5 rim.
If you are getting aftermarket rims, 7.5 or 8 is generally easy and a good fit (with a +40 to +55 fitment)

TBSti rims are 18x7.5 +55

JDM Sti rims available are 18x8 +55

Thanks Matt, any suggestions on wheels? I'm after something light and durable.

Are these any good? I've not heard of them before.. Lehrmeister LM-S 18" x 7.5" +50 5x100 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lehrmeister- ... 1395906181

The prodrives should fit brembo, being a flat face, thin spoke design with an offset under 50.
The lermeisters say PCD 114 on the back, and despite the description judging by the distance of the lug hole to center cap I'd say they are 114.
Brembo fitment would be marginal due to the width of the rim and depth of the spokes.
The prodrives are a quality lightweight item possibly forged or flow formed etc.
The other rims are average bordering on no name generic quality IMHO.
