How much difference does a strut bar make?

So seeing as though I have a 2.5i, any decent performance to be gained would be in handling correct?

So, does a strut make that much difference? Or should I just keep saving for coilovers?

Darren.

think you find most recommend sway bars front and rear for best bang for buck handling mod. Strut bar will stiffen things up a bit.

I'm sure with all the Cusco fanatics on here that would be the recommendation from most.

I just have the Whiteline front and rear sways (only $360 for the set) and am quite happy with them (from Phat of course).

+1 for Whiteline.

Man i couldn't believe the weight difference between the aftermarket and stock sways. I mean i knew the Subaru ones were hollow but Damn.

Any bracing will improve handling..

Start with swaybars and a front strut brace.. you'll probably be well satisfied..

Thanks alot guys. And difference between whiteline and cusco would be? I'd assume cusco would be more expensive right? reasons?

Does the GT and the NA libs use the same parts?

How would these parts affect the handling, i know it'll reduce the amount of body roll. But would it cause the car to understeer/oversteer a bit more?

Why bother with cusco unless you are a label basher? Whiteline is internationally recognised as being good gear..

Plus it's easy as pie to go to whiteline's site, DL the catalogue PDF and get the part numbers..

Sorry I edited my last post after you replied, so do the NA's and GT's use the same parts?

Yeah, would recommend WL for the sways..

Don't like their strutbrace.. it goes the wrong way!

There are plenty of options for that but.. from ebay to sti

i just got

a set of cusco front and rear tower bars,

i've only installed the front one as it was pretty quick, but the front feels tighter? not sure if that clearly explains it but its more rigid now on the front, i really need to install the rear one to balance things up.

handling is awesome on the spec b! still getting used tot he dynamics of the car though but i got flogged by my friend in an auto evo 7

I bought one of the cusco front strut braces with brake booster, def makes a difference to the feel through corners. Rear whiteline sway bar to put on soon and will see how that goes as a package.

IF you're in melb, i'm happy to let you have a drive of my car to get an impression.

will need to be soon tho.

power wise it's back to stock, just the handling bits on the car now.
