Bridgestone RE003 vs Michelin Pilot Super Sport?

It's that simple, well it sounds simple but it's a hard decision. I've read all over the interwebs that one shizes all over the other and then somewhere else the complete opposite. I think they're both a great tyre I just need someone to decide for me :P

I'd suggest you won't go wrong with either, so go for the one you get the best price on (you can often get Bridgestone tyres on a "buy 3, get 4" deal, which makes them a winner IMHO.

Also be aware that with a small change in tyre size (going from 215 width to 235 width as an example) you may be able to save some money as well.

Thanks manaz,
I have all but commuted to the RE003's but I will get to see them side by side on Monday and choose then.
And yes, I've gone to a 235, cheers.

I was recently in this same position but pilot sport 3 instead of the super sports. Ended up going with the PS3's in 235 40 18 for an epic press of $660 fitted and balanced after $100 cash back.

Super Sports are a good $50-100 more expensive per tyre then the RE003s

I must've stumbled across a good time to buy super sports then, in 235/40/18 I was quoted $717 fitted and balanced. More or less what I was quoted for the RE003'S.
Went with the Bridgies because I like the look of them better.

Bridgestone Burpengary :)
Bridgestone Caboolture is actually closer to me and cheaper but I'd rather pay for the professionalism and service I get at Burpengary.
You should be able to get them cheaper than us down there mine were ordered from Sydney because QLD had 0 and NSW had 350

What size is that for?
215/45/18 which is what came on the car, OE I believe, I was quoted $279 each (fitted+balanced) - $100 cash back. Soooo $1106 plus ~$75 for aligning.
But I wanted more contact patch so went for 235/40/18 and paid $205 each (fitted+balanced) - $100 cash back so $717 but didn't have them aligned because it'll probably only do 500km before I get the chance to fit coilovers.

235's on the stock 7" rims? Would be interested to see how they look.

Scott,
That's why mate, ask for a price on 225 or 235/40/18 and you'll save $50+ a tyre.

Are they directional tyres? i.e. are the left tyre different to the right. Coz looking at some pictures online the tyre is not symmetrical. Does that mean that you can't rotate them

They are not left/right sided to my understanding - there's an outside face noted, but you can run them in either direction.
