18X9.5 +43

Postby lxeli » Wed Aug 05, 2015 12:45 am

Hi guys

Looking at a set of wheels with dimensions 18X9.5 +43
Just wondering if anyone has had experience with something similar to this and will it fit with stock suspension?
A bit iffi with the +43 being too much.

Thanks

The +43 isnt the issue, it's the 9.5" wide rim that will be a concern.A +43 is great for an 8-8.25" wide wheel. But over that width you will struggle to fit under the stock guards without heavy modification. If you plan on fitting a wheel that wide you will either have to mini tub or flare the guards for it to fit.

No chance of fitting those wheels with stock suspension unfortunately.

And if you have brembos I highly doubt that offset will clear them

Offset doesn't [usually] determine brake clearance, spoke design/backspace does.
In saying that, we don't know what wheel he's talking about, so there is a high chance it won't clear.

You're right about spoke design and depth being the most important, but offset also makes a difference.

Eg - 18x9.5+43 work kiwami will not clear brembos. Same wheel in +38 offset will though.

A better choice. Still run camber and roll guards to ensure optimum clearance

Yeah on a one-piece because spoke design changes :P. Try a 2 or 3 piece, or wheels that have 'dish'.
You can get a 9" +10 wheel that won't clear 4 pots.

In saying that, it's good to know that lower offset does create space for brakes on those Work wheels.
