Hey guys!
Having a bit of a problem with my Liberty that getting to worry me so in need of advice if anyone has encountered this before.
I haven't really been driving my car recently due to getting a lift to work but the other night when I did drive it I went to brake leaving the driveway and the brake peddle started to bounce back up and made a really loud banging bouncing sound every time I tried to brake. I continued to drive the car to try identify what it was but then it stopped and the traction and ABS lights came on in the dash. I took it to a mechanic that I know well and he plugged in his snap on diagnostic tool and it said no error code match which was a massive worrie for my self. But also on the tool it shows each wheels individual wheel speed and it said the rear left wheels speed is going a ridiculous speed compared to the other three wheels.
What could be a cause and what is the best solution?

AFAIK ABS codes do not come up on normal diagnotic tools. I would say that you may have a failed abs sensor or tone ring (a magnetic ring attached to the wheel hub)
I had a failed sensor a while ago and the brakes made a knocking noise until the ABS light came on. It would reset back each time I started the car.

Is the ABS sensor on the hub? Or seperate
How much did it cost you to repair?

The sensor is separate from the hub. It is attached through the hub assemble behind the brake disk like a plug. There is a 10mm bolt holding it in. I replaced mine with a used one from the local breakers for NZ$120
The part looks like this

Its about a 15 min job to replace

The ABS codes are readable using Subaru Select Monitor or FreeSSM.
I have read ABS codes using FeeSSM.
