New 19’s finally arrived..

Some pics of new 19’s.. Have to get the guards rolled so they will fit.. I am still in the jungle so will get someone back home to organise it Saturday and will post some more pics then.. What’s the go with females havening no idea???.. I have been told by three females so far that the new wheels don’t look any different to the normal wheels!!.. Next time I get asked for advise on a dress, I will simply reply ‘Isn’t that the same as the one you wore yesterday’.. or Why do you need those new pair of shoes they look like the ones you always wear.. No offence to the females on here thou.. I am sure those of you that are smart enough to own Liberties (by choice and not just a random selection) and are part of a car forum can tell the difference between 12 spoke 18” wheels and 10 spoke 19” wheels..

Wheels are Khan 19” / 7.5” wide / offset of 45..

Tyres Yokohama Advan sport - 19 / 225 / 40..

What tyres are you running on them? Also is that is stick on the bonnet?

With the correct height (little wheel arch gap) that Lib is gonna look PIMP.

I edited above to include tyres.. I have adjustable coilovers, so when they roll the guards they can adjust the ride height to suit.. The ground slopes up in the pic, sp the new rims are sitting on slightly higher ground than wheels on car..

Brake rotors seem good.. For street use not sure if there will be a whole lot of noticeable difference (they will look good thou sitting behind the Kahn’s thou).. I did notice a bit of shudder at high speed.. Not sure if it was due to new rotors and pads still need to bed in.. Cant fault them below 100.. I really noticed the difference when driving the MY05 with the stock brakes thou, it took a while to get use to them.. I always left braking too late and then really had to smash the brake pedal to get any sort of response out of it.. Before I had the STi I thought the brakes on the MY05 were pretty decent.. I guess its just what you are use to.. It has made me realise how good the Brembos are..

lmao lol... yeah I cant seem to get them to fit properly, there seems to be something in the way.. Might just have to wield them in place and flair the guards a heap.. With 450mm worth of grip per corner, car should handle like its on rails..

At standard height I wouldn’t need to roll guards.. But if I want to keep it nice a low….

I think that stick on the bonnet plays a dual role. It's for keeping out small rodents and cats from getting into the intake opening. But now that you have the wheels, it's used to beat away drooling onlookers.

Thanks Jim, I just got power to a Tunnel Borer Machine in the deep jungles of PNG, now that required enormous amounts of persistence.. Dealing with logistics over here is a painful experience.. Getting the wheels was easy.. The hard part is now being over here for another four weeks before I even get to see the wheels for myself.. and letting other people (who have no real interest, care or knowledge about cars at all) drive my car around to get the wheels and such fitted.. I don’t think my parents have ever washed a car in their lives and they see no real need for putting my car back in the garage after they drive it.. And I am pretty sure someone put stock fuel in my car last time as it ran like a dog until I ran a tank of premium through it..

I am having second thoughts about the tyres thou.. Stock tyre are 225/40/18’s.. These are 225/40/19’s.. SO a pretty big increase in circumference (4%)..

Will a tyre of larger diameter give you less acceleration? I guess it’s similar to having slightly taller gears.. The larger tyre should give me better fuel economy.. But if I was overly worried about fuel economy I would have purchased a non-turbo car..

I am thinking of swapping them with 235/35/19’s, so they are a better match to the original tyre circumference..

Both my sisters were Vet nurses so we do have a heap of dogs (from miniature sausage dogs to St Bernard’s).. I cant see my parents taking a stick to them thou lol..

Lol yeah I am pretty keen to see what they look like actually on the car.. no pics with them on the car yet thou.. Tried to get them fitted at the local tyre shop over weekend… but no good.. too low.. So booked in this Saturday (hopefully) to get guards rolled and raised a bit if necessary.. Then will have some better pics..
