Hey Guys,

Not knowing much about brake upgrades, I'm hoping someone can confirm this for me please....

I have a mate selling an AP Racing CP 9040 brake kit that I'd like to take off his hands and fit to my GenV GT Wagon. I'm Currently running 19x8 RS-GT rims and haven't checked clearance yet - but wondering if there is any reason apart from clearance that these wouldn't fit?

I'm pretty confident they will clear the wheels but as stated above, I'm pretty special when it comes to replacing brakes so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Product info: https://www.apracing.com/product_details/road_car_upgrades/factory_big_brake_kits/subaru/new_age_shape_and_n14_(01-09)-front_6_piston_kit_cp9040y1003.aspx

Cheers fellas,

Garth

I don't known which car that caliper was previously on but i assume that it won't be another Gen5 GT. So you might have some issue installing them because i am 99% sure that you will need to find a mounting bracket because the ones on ur current Gen5 GT won't work with the AP caliper.

Post a pic of your rims.

They certainly should fit any recent Suby as GD and GR are listed as compatible.
Generally AP 4 pots are somewhat (considerably) more low profile than Brembos, and I'd hope this is true for the 6 pots as well :)
Iirc Rs-gt's are a bit on the shallow end of the fitment scale, so ymmv :)
But buy and trial fit them, you can't lose either way :)

The Brake kit is coming off an Audi A4.

I spoke to a mechanic today who said I might need some brackets for the brakes, I'm going to head down when the brakes are removed from the Audi and do a test fitment on mine to see if they will fit.

Looks like there is plenty of clearance there, but I might be wrong.

Cheers Guys.

Looks like at least 1/2" between the mounting pad and the rear of the spokes?
Look into AP's dedicated Subaru adapter. :)

The pcs of the rotor bell isn't 5x100 either so re drill or new bells :)

I'd also check that they're all genuine ;)

Thanks Man.

Yeah, the shortest distance between mounting pad and rear of spoke is a fart over an inch.

I'll check out the adapter, what part does the adapter fit to?

If I need adapters, new bells/re-drill I may give them a miss and look for some that are a direct fit.

Generally bells are less expensive than rotor rings :)
An inch should be heaps iirc.
The calipers may have vertical or horizontal mount holes and the adapters just bolt on to those and onto the Suby knuckles.
Ap will have both parts for subys meaning the final pad runout will be correct/ not require spacers.
If drilling the Audi bells you'd have to check that aspect.

Yes there's plenty out there.

Iirc Godspeed might be an ap/Suby specialist

They sell the kit thus would carry spares, but then so should the local disty :)
