rubber for 19's

hey trendsetters...

This is directed at those of you rolling on 19's... Ive found my wheel, love it, have a great price on it. But now im getting told that there isnt any rubber that can "legally" be fitted because of the load rating being so high..

Can anyone suggest something i can wrap around my new wheels that will still be legal??

id hate to have to change my wheel size due to a damn bit of rubber!!

If you get toyo proxis 4's in 235/35r19s with a load rating of 91w you will be sweet as it is over the 89 oem load rating.

Hang on, the standard tyres for a 2.5i are Bridgestone RE050A 215/45R17 87W
So the equivalent RE050A in 19" is 235/35/R19 87Y
According to http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/pro ... /re050.asp
this tyre has a smaller diameter, 626mm -> 586mm which is 6% smaller, but I suspect 586mm is mistake.

so basically i am going to have to go a bigger profile to get a legal strip of rubber....???

im still fighting this battle with 3 different manufacturers. Ones telling me to downgrade to 18's to make it easier.. And another has to get back to me, cause its all to hard for this time of night..

ive negotiated them down from 510 a wheel, and im currently at 360, with lock nuts, so i am getting somewhere, and as far as the rubber goes,
basically they are telling me, im looking at 282 per wheel for a set of the 215/35/19's and they are the falkens, and they are the ones that arent a high enough load rating,

and for the 235/35/19's in hankook, im looking at 266 per wheel..

hes telling me that it will sit higher in the car cause of the higher profile, but im thinking thats not a bad thing, cause then the car wont look like it needs lowering...

is my rambling making any sence to anyone?? ha ha....

Well matey. I'm just trying to think when I last saw a manufacturer fit Hancooks as standard. Ahh yes. Hyundai. Now that's a good reference isn't it.

And I don't recall them coming up fantastically well in the motor mags tyre tests.

Still. I'm sure they'll look good on the 19s.

ahh yes i knew that name rang a bell.. stupid hyundai...

i guess at the end of the day, im happy to pay that extra 20 bucks and get something i know it decent in the falkens..

I've got hankooks 225/30/20, i was surprised at the handling of them actually, they are pretty good.

i hit em up for them wheels today, and he said they arent worth the money you pay for them..

so hes now quoted me some other brand ive never heard of..

and after todays negotiations, ive got them down to a total of $2500 fitted with a set of hankooks.. they cant be that bad surely.. ha ha ha..

If the Load rating is 87w on the 17" wheels the 225/35r19s would be legal on a car which had a 17" wheel stock,as the load rating on my current tyres are 88. I dont think the 50 would worry if they tyres have a slightly smaller rolling diameter, they more so worry about oversized wheel/tyre combinations.
