Hey guys,

Looking at getting some rims in the near future but really struggling to determine what size to go for without the need for rolling, pulling, camber, etc. I have done quite a bit of searching on here but seem to find conflicting answers.
I have a my07 3.0r-specb at standard height (looking at getting pink springs soon too). Some people are saying that fitting 18x8.5 requires offset in mid +30's whereas others are saying in +40's for best fit. Would prefer 8.5 wide, but would it be better off going for 8 wide and forget the hassle?
any help or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!!

What size tyres do you want to fit?

18x8.5 will fit fine with a safe offset of +45.

225/40 won't scrub at all, 235/40 (which is ideally what you want with 8.5 inch wheel) may scrub very slightly on the rear. Getting the rears rolled is a pretty pain free experience.

Sedan or wagon?

I've got 18x8.5 +45 on my car, it's standard height atm but will be putting in pink springs soon. I'll get some pictures tonight for you so you can see how much they poke/tuck

on 18x8.5 +35 myself, needed to roll and add camber.

Im just struggling to find some variety (other than rotas or sti's and within decent price range) with correct offset. Best I could find in 18x8.5 was +40 (DTMP10's).
Then I guess there's possibility of 19x8?? but still struggle to find correct offset.

I have been putting off getting new rims due to offset and not being able to see first hand how they sit. I wanna run 235/40R18s so will need at least 8" wide but also dont wanna go crazy poke and need a HEAP of work on guards minimal rolling would be fine but dont wanna add camber I like my tread flat for wears sake

I'll look at rims for a while, then give up, then give it another go, then give up and so on..

Fronts slightly poke but with slight lowering and a small amount camber they will be fine

If I had the coin id gwt volk racing G2's but out of my budget. Also I wanna paint the face of my new rims white and leave the inside black due to dust etc.

I should also mention that I'm running 225/40/r18 so slightly stretched and I have my guards rolled just as a precautionary measure because nobody wants to chop up their tyres. For the sake of $130 I thought it was worth it

Daniel, they are some nice wheels man, but I'm the same in regards to budget.. That's why I was considering DTM's but offset is +40.. Might have to start looking at 8" wide now

Don't mind getting guards rolled a bit, but don't want to do much more than that.. Anyone in SA rolled guards? Who did you use??

The front poke was more than what I was expecting too but I've got used to it and doesn't really bother me much now knowing that I'll be lowering soon

I'm not sure if you're talking to me regarding the guards considering I'm in victoria but I used central Vic guard rolling. He's a good bloke, there's a typo in my other post should be $150, $70 for fronts and $80 for rears
