Hey guys,

was just wanting some advice on what rotors/brake pads to get?
i have an 07 TB STI Wagon and am leaning towards either Dixcel SD or DBA T3 4000 with dixcel type M pads, is there any others you would recommend?

Thanks

Google this forum (tinyurl courtesy bigbadbenny): http://tinyurl.com/nm7g3ho

The method I employed here is: I remembered reading a thread on this a little while ago and that owen posted, I went to owens profile and scrolled through until I found the post.

The key here is to spend way too much time on these forums, as well as reading others (NASIOC, LGT, random other forums, parts manufacturer pages, rallysportdirect review pages) and waste hours collating information to save you maybe $100 or an hour or two, and give you ideas to spend much more and take up much more time.

... Or you can post and let some other sucker link you up or give you the information :)

that said, searching for 'brembo rotors' gives you the goods here:

search.php?keywords=brembo+rotors

The simple answer is, it depends... What sort of driving do you currently do or plan to do? What's your budget? Are you doing fronts and rears at the same time or one first then the other later? Are you on factory rims or aftermarket?

Without knowning this any recommendation is just a guess plain and simple.

I have a DBA-T2 rotor and Intima SR pad combination all round. Excellent for the street and occasional hills run. For track work, consider a Brembo upgrade if you have the coin. Or look at DBA T3's, braded lines and track pads like Project Mu or something of that calibre.

I've been very happy with the Dixcel pads and rotors on my MY09 GT Spec.B.

Not so impressed with the stock lines (just rubber on the Spec.Bs, I believe the TbSTI ones got braided lines from the factory?), I really need to get the braided lines that are sitting on the shelf in my garage installed onto the car...

You mean to say you've had braided lines sitting in your shed and haven't fitted them yet Rob? tsk tsk....

I just fitted Intima SS F & R with DBA T3 up front and T2 at the rear. Awesome improvement. Originally had some mystery pad setup from MRT which worked a treat but dusty as so had to get them outta there. Its mainly a street car so it will never see a racetrack but on occasion they do "GET WARM"

I just bought some T2s to replace my warped rotors. I need some new brake pads as well.

Any recommendations for some pads to suit brembos?

Any reason to go the SR over the SS? If you're not going to track the car?

Ive got SS Intima pads. Work very well with T2 rotors. Low dust as well. Just dont go exploring the limits with them though like I did once. haha. Sphincter clenching moment.
