CV Noise

Hi All

PNYGTA here and a newbie to this forum.

We now have our 08 Liberty Spec B, and I absolutely love the thing, its actually the wifes car, but whenever I can, I drive it.

First question, I am a little worried about a noise it makes while turning at low speed, I don't think its the CV joints, as it doesn't have the usual chatter noise, it is more like a binding noise which happens once every revolution, and mainly the left side.

I have had a wheel alignment done, and taken to a mechanic for a check, and both say there isnt' anything wrong with the CV joints.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if anyone knows what it might be and if I should be worried about it.

Thanks

PNYGTA

Get it up on stands and see if you can replicate the noise.
Check the wheel rotating it, pulling it top to bottom and side to side.
Turn the steering wheel lock to lock.
Could be wheel bearing, suspension bushes, top hat bearing on the strut, knocking bilstein, power steering etc.
Use the google this forum link in my sig and good luck, keep us posted :)

Hey bigBadbenny,

Thought I would post that I have had the issue repaired.

Turned out to be the Viscous Coupling, had it repaired under warranty today and took it out for a good test run after getting home, all good now.

Cheers
